Synergetic Play Therapy
What is Synergetic Play Therapy?
– Synergetic Play Therapy® (SPT) is a research-informed model of play therapy that blends neuroscience, attachment, mindfulness, and therapist authenticity to help children regulate their nervous systems and build resilience. Developed by Lisa Dion, SPT focuses on the therapist’s ability to co-regulate with the child, meaning that the therapist models emotional regulation while engaging in play. This helps children process their experiences and learn self-regulation in a safe, relational environment.
What issues does it help with?
Synergetic Play Therapy® (SPT) is effective for a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges in children. Because it focuses on nervous system regulation and emotional integration, it can be particularly helpful for:
- Anxiety & Stress-Related Issues
- Trauma & PTSD
- Emotional Regulation Challenges
- Attachment & Relational Issues
- Behavioral Concerns
- Sensory & Nervous System Dysregulation
At Counseling and Recovery Guidance, we believe in the power of play to help children heal, grow, and develop emotional resilience. That’s why we’re proud to have Gabby on our team, bringing Synergetic Play Therapy® (SPT) knowledge to her sessions.
SPT is a research-based approach that helps children:
– Manage anxiety and overwhelm
– Develop emotional regulation skills
– Process trauma and life transitions
– Navigate behavioral challenges
– Strengthen relationships and attachment
Through co-regulation, mindfulness, and play, Gabby creates a safe space where children can process their emotions and build lifelong coping skills. Her compassionate, neuroscience-informed approach helps kids not just feel better, but truly thrive.
