Maddy Deshotels, PLPC
Hey there, I’m Maddy! I work with clients experiencing a range of struggles and goals, primarily with those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment, relationship concerns, and social skills. I incorporate mindfulness techniques into session and believe in the importance of client homework. I meet clients where they are, and help them create goals that bring them closer to their values. I want you to create and reach goals that align with your values, gain insight into your life, and process emotions openly and freely.
I believe in the power each person has to impart change in their own life. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to explore and process what you experience. I implement a wide range of therapeutic techniques, and firmly believe in the importance of the relationship and trust between the therapist and client!
When working with me, you can expect an empathetic and client-led approach. I’m here to listen to what YOU are going through, and help you learn more about your thought and behavior patterns. I will give you plenty of coping skills, as well as things to work on outside of the therapy office. When you come to my office, you are in the driver’s seat. I’m here to help!
I know how much strength and courage it takes to reach out and ask for help. I strive to create an environment that offers genuine support. I truly believe everyone can benefit from therapy, and that you do not need to be in crisis to start. Therapy gives you the tools needed to better navigate your mental health. I would love to walk with you along the way!
I graduated with my Master’s in Counseling Education in 2021 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. I am always taking courses to learn more and better help my clients. I also have offered group support and Continuing Education courses. I have almost 3 years of experience working with individuals with a range of concerns.
