    Sarah Meche, PLPC

Hey there! I’m Sarah – a wife, boy mom, and former high school teacher turned therapist.

For a little over a decade, I taught high school and found myself spending more and more time listening to students who were struggling in their personal lives – all while trying to squeeze in Algebra lessons. Eventually, I decided to throw out the Algebra and lean into what I loved most: listening, supporting, and helping people heal.

I have a genuine love for learning, and I bring that same energy into the counseling room. In sessions, I become the student while you teach me about your life – what’s led you here and what’s shaped your story. With curiosity and without judgment, we’ll explore the connections between your experiences and how your nervous system has learned to respond. Everyone carries a story, and it lives in the body. You deserve a safe, comfortable space to begin putting it down. So, take off your shoes and get comfy – we’ve got some healing to do.

My work often centers around trauma, grief, motherhood, and navigating life’s many transitions. I take an eclectic approach to therapy incorporating creative, experiential techniques to meet your unique needs. I’m trained in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. (Check out the Services page to learn more.)

I hold a B.S. in Psychology and an M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a provisionally licensed professional counselor with the Louisiana State Board of Counselors. I work with individuals aged 10 and up.
