    Gabby Guilbeau, Counselor Intern

“Toys are used like words by children, and play is their language” – Gary Landreth

Hey everyone! My name is Gabby and I specialize in play therapy to help your little ones work through whatever may be troubling them. I am currently learning and implementing a non-directive approach for littles and a more directive approach for older children with an emphasis on the client’s strengths and abilities. I am passionate about working with children as young as three to create a safe therapeutic environment through a strengths-based approach, cognitive behavioral therapy, and play therapy with creative interventions.

I am currently pursing my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and will obtain my PLPC licensure after graduation. I plan on extending my knowledge and education further upon graduation to become a Registered Play Therapist as well. I love working with children of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, grief, divorce-related issues, transitions, adjustment, and trauma resolution. My goal is to ensure that clients feel safe in the play room to foster any change or healing that is needed. Any day where there is play is a good day!”
